Join our award-winning Competition Team program! Our focus is on having FUN while bringing your dance ability to a higher level and having extra performance opportunities!
COMPETITION TEAM AUDITIONS FOR THE 2019-2020 SEASON
St Louis Park Auditions: Monday, August 12
Grades K-2: 5:00-6:15pm
Grades 3-5: 6:15-7:45pm
Grades 6-12: 7:45-9:30pm
Long Lake & Wayzata Auditions: Thursday August 22 *Auditions for both will be held at our Long Lake location
Age 4-Grade 1: 4:45-6:00
Grades 2-6: 6:00-7:30
Grades 7-12: 7:30-9:15pm
Pre-registration is required for auditions.
Dancers should wear a black leotard and tan tights, hair in a bun. Bring all styles of shoes that you have: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical. Arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out an audition form and to go over general information.

St Louis Park Informational Meeting: Tuesday, August 6 7:00pm

Wayzata Informational Meeting: Thursday, August 15 7:00pm
Competition team opportunities are available to dancers age 4 and up. Dancers are required to audition for a place on a competitive team.
Competition Dancers in PreK through Grade 5 are required to enroll in a recreational combination class in addition to competition team class(es). Additional recreational classes are encouraged but not required, such as Hip Hop.
Competition Dancers in grades 6-12 are required to enroll in Ballet, as well as the weekly technique class for their age and skill level. Additional recreational classes are encouraged for further skill development, but not required for grades 6 and above.
Competitive dancers will compete at three regional competitions in the spring of 2020, as well as a Nationals competition. Dance Unlimited attends Nationals on an every-other-year basis.
All dancers who make a competitive team are invited to be a part of our studios 'Production' number, which will be a large multi-age group dance with a theme.
Additional performances will be scheduled throughout the year, such as mall and nursing home performances. Competition team dancers will also perform an 'opening number' at Winter Showcase and Spring Recitals. There will be extra rehearsals scheduled for these extra performances, at no additional cost.
